Google Stock Drops By Billions 2006-02-03 06:17:08 (239 weeks ago) Posted By: JWSmythe (Read 1704 times || 0 comments) Google Inc. shares plunged as much as 14 percent in Europe after the search engine's profit missed analysts' estimates for the first time since the company went public in August 2004. Google shares tumbled as much as $61.15 to the equivalent of $371.51 in Germany, signaling the stock will have its biggest-ever drop when the U.S. opens. They traded at $386.44 as of 10:34 a.m. in Germany. Google's largest drop in the U.S. was 8.5 percent on Jan. 20 as investors became concerned the stock may be overvalued. Earnings were reported after U.S. markets closed yesterday. Google's market capitalization, almost three times that of Yahoo yesterday, will drop by about $18 billion if the fall in the stock continues in U.S. trading today.
